Amy + William’s Skirball Cultural Center Wedding

Amy and William left such a lasting impression on my heart and my mind. From the moment I first chatted with Amy over the phone, her warm and gracious conversation endeared her to me instantly. She is the type of person that anyone could instantly become friends with. Smart, sassy, beautiful and so very kind. And William- he is Amy’s perfect match in the kindness department. But to add to that, he is refined, genuine, and the perfect example of a modern gentleman. We all clicked instantly with talk of our mutual love of good food, even better wine, and travel. I knew I was going to have way too much fun helping them plan their wedding- and right I was. I often referred to them as my ‘dream clients’ and their wedding day was a dream as well. Here are images from the day as photographed by the lovely ray-of-sunshine Jasmine Star (of Jasmine Star Photography); enjoy!

We started the day at the Huntley Hotel- such a chic setting that set the tone for an equally chic day.

With such a great fashion sense, it was only fitting that Amy fell in love with two very different dresses, both perfect for her. The first (that she wore for the ceremony and most of dinner) by Amsale Blue Label is pictured here. A true work of art.

It’s worth mentioning that Amy’s mom and all of her gals were equally as sweet and fun to be around as Amy. It’s amazing how big of a difference that can make on a wedding day- having loving and positive energy surrounding you is a must!

Well hellllloooo, gorgeous!

I am a pretty big stickler for the first look being (if at all possible) only the bride and groom (meaning no wedding party, family, entourage, etc. milling about). It’s a very special moment- and one that is best soaked in by the two that right then and there matter to each other most. Here’s Amy and Will enjoying their first look.

You must be dying to know- the girls dresses were all from Melissa Sweet. The perfect balance of femininity and fun. And of course they will wear them again!

Nisie and her crew worked diligently to make the ceremony and reception as magical as they were- they never fail to take my breath away. All the planning, meetings, and mock-ups go into the one moment when the couple first sees the wedding created by and for them- gives me goosebumps every time!

The cake! Oh, the cake! Created by THE Amy at THE Vanilla Bake Shop, it was inspired by the delicate design on Amy’s first gown. My absolute favorite was the detailing on the back of the cake- tiny little buttons went up the cake from bottom to top, just like the back of Amy’s dress. Divine! (And so tasty)
