Sara + Ash’s Wedding, Pelican Hill Resort, Newport Coast

Sara and Ash’s beautiful wedding at Pelican Hill Resort was an absolutely fitting for their sweet love. Their story began when their adorable moms conspired to set them up- what started as a blind date at the Rooftop in Laguna Beach turned into a nine-hour first date and the two were smitten from there. Their long-distance romance continued until finally Sara moved back to Orange County. Ash knew she was the one and when the time came to pop the question, he wanted to sweep her off her feet by land, by sea AND by air. An afternoon for the two of them sailing on a yacht¬†included a ring and a proposal (as dolphins swam around the boat!), then they were whisked away in a limo to celebrate with both of their families at Mastro’s Ocean Club, where finally a small airplane flew overhead trailing a banner that read ‘A rooftop romance, she said yes!’. The stuff that movies are made of, right? Their gorgeous wedding day was an absolute joy to design with them- the soft peach tones we ended up incorporating were perfect for the early-summer day. And of course magnificent floral chandeliers throughout the ballroom took a beautiful space to the next level. Working with Jana (of Jana Williams Photography) is always a breeze and she¬†took SO many fabulous photos. Below are my favorites- enjoy:)

I am still OBSESSED with Sara’s incredible Ysa Makino gown from Mon Amie Bridal. Everything about it- the full and ruffly bottom, the detailed lace and beading, the hints of bling, the slightly sheer back! Perfection!
