Helen and Johnson’s Wedding, St. Regis Monarch Beach

The whole week leading up to Helen and Johnson’s wedding the forecast looked bleak. It went up and down between a 30% and 90% chance of rain. Of course we had a back-up plan just in case; but the last thing I wanted to do was use it. In fact, when Helen e-mailed me the weekend before mentioning how sad she was to see rain forecasted- I told her to stop checking it until we had to make the call Friday. Otherwise she could potentially drive herself mad with anxiety at the constant fluctuations. Lo and behold… rain all night Friday, blue skies Saturday. It was truly the day all of us had hoped for! I know the two of them would have put beautiful smiles on no matter what the weather ended up being- but it was so nice to be able to take full advantage of the gorgeous beach location offered at the St. Regis Monarch Beach. Thanks to Sam Lim (of Sam Lim Studios) and his crew for capturing the day so perfectly. I had such an incredibly hard time narrowing down the pictures from this lovely day- so buckle in, this post is a doozey!

I had to start off with photos of the day’s show-stealer; meet Kimchee- Doggie Ring Bearer and beloved fur-baby of H & J. Kimchee is destined for stardom! The camera loves him, and the feeling is obviously mutual. He was so well-behaved I couldn’t believe it. Riley would have been running circles around everyone going nutso. Not Kimchee!

Helen’s delicate Matthew Christopher dress was absolutely stunning- I loved the cascading waves of ruffles down the train.

I like to call this “The Many Faces of Johnson”. He cracks me up!

Soft and airy ceremony details- their palette was classic and romantic with baby pink and light silver as the primary colors. Touches of chocolate and ivory were included here and there as well.

In honor of Johnson’s heritage, the couple chose to include a traditional Korean Paebaek as a part of their day. During the extended cocktail reception, guests were invited into Club 19 to enjoy the ceremony.

I love that Club 19 has the feel of being outdoors, while still being protected from the elements.

Helen and Johnson had so much fun at their reception, which I loved. It’s your party- let loose!

And finally- I had to sneak this one in. Proof that we take great care of not just our clients- but even the littlest (and furriest) of guests.

I can’t believe it has already been a year since Kathy and Gregg’s lovely garden wedding. Time really does fly…Cheers to the two of them as they toast their first year of marriage. Knowing them (they are true food and wine connoisseurs) they are celebrating somewhere delicious!

Becky + Isaac’s Hyatt Huntington Beach Resort & Spa Wedding, Revisited

If the faces below look familiar it’s because they belong to Becky and Isaac, whose sunny beachside June wedding you first experienced on this very blog not too long ago. Well- they’re back! And they brought some more loveliness from their Big Day with them for you to enjoy. And of course we have to thank Crissy (of Christine Farah Photography) for her always amazing, never disappointing mad skills behind the lens!

Lisa + Mark’s Wedding, The Resort at Pelican Hill

Lisa and Mark had a lovely, intimate wedding at the gorgeous Resort at Pelican Hill. I adored that the wedding was a genuine reflection of the two of them- a real celebration of their union shared with their closest friends and family. You could tell it was everything they wanted it to be by the giddy grins on both of their faces the whole day. And not just their faces, but their guest’s faces as well. Everyone was so happy to be there to share in the occasion, and it made the day (and evening) all the more enjoyable. Thanks to the dynamic duo of Rog and Lyndzee (of EP Love Photography) for photographing the day (and for being all-around cool people).

Seeing as both Lisa and Mark are in the fashion industry, their ring shot was very fitting.

Helen and Johnson are getting married soooo soon! As in; in two weeks soon. I couldn’t be happier for them or their super bright and shiny future that I know lies ahead. They’re kind, they’re smart, they’re succesful, they’re a gorgeous couple- they’ve got it all. And they also have a little doggie Kimchee who I can’t wait to meet as he makes his grand Ring Dog debut on the Big Day.
