Tawny and Brent had a vibrant, fun, modern Seven Degrees wedding filled with tons of bright neon colors and lots of details designed by the bride herself (Tawny is a talented graphic designer- check her out HERE). I thought it only appropriate to take a closer look at their wedding since there was so much photo goodness from Dana Grant Photography that I had yet to share. Enjoy:)

This year, like all the years before it seems, is flying by. I can’t believe we are more than halfway through September! The past year probably flew by even faster for Caroline and Giulio, who are celebrating their first wedding anniversary today. Congrats and much love goes out to both of them:)

There was so much I loved about Caroline and Giulio’s wedding; the fresh and modern design elements, the unique and visually stunning venue, oh- and of course, Caro and Giulio themselves! Here’s another look at their wedding held at Seven Degrees in Laguna Beach.

Tawny and Brent are kindred spirits for sure. They both have this totally unique appeal to them- not just because of their personal style (which, I might add, rocks), but because they are both just super cool and one-of-a-kind. They are the type of people that are so much fun and so easy to talk to; their fabulously sarcastic personalities would crack me up every time we would meet, and they had such incredible ideas about how they wanted to make their day THEIRS. I loved that about them! Don’t get me wrong, it’s fun when a client lets me have a ton of say in the look and feel of everything. But when you have such an amazing vision as Tawny and Brent did, it’s awesome to see it all come together in a way so perfectly fit for them. And just as perfect a fit for them was their choice of photographer- Dana (of Dana Grant Photography). Here is a glimpse into their wedding, Tawny and Brent-style.

Tawny loooooves hot pink, if you couldn’t tell:) These neon pink Christian Louboutin platforms were ri.dic.u.lous! So sassy!

The girls’ bouquet wraps coordinated with their shoes, which coordinated with their paired groomsman’s tie and socks. Fun fun fun!

I loved everything about Tawny’s look- her pin-up inspired hair and make-up perfectly complimented her gorgeous and vintage feeling gown by Matthew Christopher. With some hot pink thrown in for good measure, naturally.

As a nod to Tawny’s Filipino heritage, several traditions were incorporated.

Tawny and Brent love music- so it played a huge role in the evening from the song titles as table names to the carefully selected music choices.

Tawny is a graphic designer by trade- so of course all her self-designed invitations and paper details were over-the-top awesome.

Stacey + Baker’s Wedding, Surf and Sand Resort, Laguna Beach

Stacey and Baker came to me under not the most ideal circumstances. Just a little over three months before their wedding, the venue they had originally booked had discovered certain aspects of the site were not up to county code. So that meant no weddings for awhile while things were repaired- including Stacey and Baker’s wedding. I remember getting the initial e-mail from Stacey and my heart just broke for them hearing how they were forced to drastically rework their wedding plans in such a short amount of time. Looking back I see how much of a blessing it all was- them coming into my life, and being able to help them make sense of what could have been a super stressful situation for them. Their wedding day turned out fantastically; the Surf and Sand Resort was the perfect location and their vendor list came together absolutely seamlessly. I loved finally getting to work with Aaron Shintaku (of Aaron Shintaku Photography), who is such a cool guy that takes eqaully as cool pictures- see for yourself!

Caroline + Giulio’s Wedding, Seven Degrees, Laguna Beach

Caroline and Giulio’s story is one that speaks to the perseverance of love and the fact that one really can find a soul mate in the darndest of places. You see, they sparked a friendship through the World Wide Web while living on opposite ends (literally) of the world; and got to know each other over the course of a few years before Caroline took a leap of faith and flew to visit Giuilio in Australia (where he called home). Their love then blossomed long distance- with visits interspersed from time to time. To me, this is truly impressive- I think of how much I miss Greg being away even for a few days, and I can’t imagine not being able to see him for months on end. But what doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger, right? Obviously, the rest is history- and it all ends (and begins, really) with their intimate and personal wedding day at Seven Degrees.

I loved planning with Caroline because she is so laid back- I don’t think she got stressed out once throughout the whole process. We had nothing but fun creating the modern look she envisioned for the Big Day. When I did get to finally meet Giuilio, I really enjoyed watching the two of them interact. Giulio is so gentle and caring with her; you can tell he adores her and treats her like a Queen. And Caroline gets this adorable smile on her face when he’s around. They are a perfect match, to say the least. Here is their lovely day courtesy of Sarah (of Sarah K. Chen Photography); enjoy!

Caroline’s rich gold colored blinged-out shoes were an appropriate nod to the palette of eggplant purple and gold that we weaved throughout the day.

In keeping with the modern and unique aesthetic of the day, Christine strategically placed an asymmetrical tulip hanging from the body of the bouquet, and attached a little bling Caroline selected to add some glamour. Love how it turned out!

The polka dot ties were a fun touch!

To echo the clean, modern look we worked in lots of glass, candle light, and crisp white flowers. Sometimes simplicity is so much more than simple!
