Nicole + Brad’s Wedding, Pelican Hill, Newport Coast

Nicole and Brad had the definition of an elegant and timeless wedding at Pelican Hill this past Spring. The overall palette was as classic as it gets- shades of ivory and white with touches of black here and there. We had fun working with the talented crew at Nisie’s Enchanted Florist putting together the decor- and it all turned out so gorgeous! My good friend Robert Evans (of Robert Evans Studios) was with us to photograph the day. Here are some of my favorite images from the wedding- enjoy:)

Evelyn + Will’s Wedding, Marriott Suites, Anaheim

Evelyn and Will’s wedding was rich with tradition and loaded with fun. We planned virtually for the most part as they are currently working in Singapore; but while my face time with them was limited I still got a great sense for how wonderful of people they are when we did meet. Evelyn has a smile that lights up the room and Will loves making her laugh- so seeing them interact it’s obvious how much sense they make. Working with Ray (of Apertura) was, as usual, awesome. And of course he captured the day flawlessly; see for yourself!

We started the day at the Residence Inn Ontario Airport for the first of tea ceremony of the day honoring Evelyn’s family.

Before the Tea Ceremony could begin, Will and his groomsmen were put through some rigorous tests to show Will’s devotion to Evelyn. He really had to work to get his Bride!

Then we headed over to Will’s family home in Corona for a second Tea Ceremony; this time honoring his family.

Next we were off to our final stop for the day- the Anaheim Marriott Suites. Here Evelyn and Will had their last ceremony followed by a traditional Chinese banquet reception. And Evelyn finally got to put on her white dress!

Their first look was so sweet- it is tradition for the Groom to present the Bride with her bouquet, and Will did just that.

We focused on a palette of vibrant, fall-like colors and loads of candlelight. Of course we had to incorporate shades of red- a symbol of good luck.

Married!

Tamaron + Sola’s Wedding, Pelican Hill, Newport Coast

I am a firm believer that people come into your life for a reason. There are no mistakes- no accidental meetings. Look back at your own life and I bet you can pinpoint why you know the people you do; why you interact with them and what they bring to your life. Tamaron and Sola are perfect proof of this. Tamaron contacted me by chance. She had looked pretty much all across the continent for THE wedding location that really spoke to her. Stumbling across the beauty of Pelican Hill, she found a past wedding of mine and next thing you know, she was on a plane to meet me and tour what would prove to be her dream venue. I look back on that first meeting and there were so many signs that ‘we’ were meant to be as a planning team. I only wish I had known her earlier- that our friendship would have started even sooner. She has so much to give, such a big heart- and Sola is the exact same. Their beauty as a couple is apparent but what is truly disarming is the love they live every day, and how they embrace friends and family (new and old) with arms wide open.

Their wedding day was the culmination of their love, and being a completely destination wedding it brought family members and friends from as far as Nigeria and China to celebrate. Tamaron and Sola had a very specific vision from the get-go and we hit the ground running to desgn their ‘Miami Chic’ wedding on the California Riviera. Lots of cool, crisp white with pops of fuschia and aqua as bold accents. We had an absolute blast putting the decor together and I am certain it shows in the photos. Thanks to my lovely Crissy (of Christine Farah Photography) for doing her thing like nobody else can do! On with the eye candy…

You see- Tamaron is absolutely a girl after my own heart. Dance party on your wedding day? Yes, please!

Sola’s attire inspiration for the day was Bradley Cooper’s character in ‘The Hangover’- very understated suaveness. I am sure you would agree he pulled it off perfectly, right?

Daddy seeing his baby girl for the first time on the wedding day- loved this moment.

We wanted to keep the ceremony decor simple and clean- saving the color pops for the reception. The Rotunda provides such a gorgeous backdrop you can’t go wrong.

Their Grand Entrance and First Dance- from crazy fun to crazy in love.

Tamaron’s dad loves the ‘Ying Yang Twins’- so halfway through their sweet Father-Daughter dance the song changed to a booty-shakin’ beat and they broke it down for everyone. Needless to say the crowd went WILD!

Towards the end of the evening the newlyweds changed into traditional Nigerian wedding attire and we incorporated some cultural elements into the reception. Tamaron’s custom outfit was brought over from Nigeria by Jake’s mom- it was absolutely stunning.

Sarv and Kevin were married on a gorgeous California day on the coast at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. I love that I am still in contact with Sarv- being able to touch base now and then and hear how wonderful life is treating them warms my heart to no end. Here’s wishing them an absolutely fabulous first anniversary!

I swear I had to pinch myself a few times on Nicole and Charlie’s wedding day. It was a total dream come true- everyone was so fun-loving, beautiful, caring, and HAPPY. And the two of them especially seemed so at ease and excited to start their future together. They deserved nothing less than an absolutely perfect day at a perfect location- none other than Pelican Hill, which I am sure you all know by now is a favorite of mine for a million and one reasons. Seriously- I could list a million; don’t believe me give me a call and just ask! And it was fantastic working with the Mike and Miah (of Studio7 Photography)- they were great. Enjoy some of their photos from gorgeous the day:)

Nicole’s stunning Matthew Christopher gown was from an adorable OC boutique Blush Bridal Couture. The dress could not have looked better on her- soooo beautiful!

Married!

The decor had a bit of a contemporary edge to it- the clean lines of the ghost chairs, all white florals in unique fluted vases, with a touch of slate gray in the linens for contrast. Topped off with cool aqua lighting the room was very sleek!
